Infrared Photography and Liquid Emulsion

I used a Pentax film camera and Infrared film to photograph various objects which reflect light and show different variations of light exposure. I also experimented with Liquid Emulsion on various materials which I feel have come out quite well. When I first tried the liquid emulsion I didn't think it would work at all which is why I am also quite surprised at how well some of them turned out, especially the ones on the old blind material. The photograph didn't expose so well on the hessian but I'm not surprised by that because the surface and texture seems quite difficult for the emulsion to have gripped onto meaning I wouldn't have gotten a clear image. The normal prints came out well however they don't really differ very much to normal black and white film photography which is something I wanted to be able to notice. Despite this I am happy with the way each of these prints have turned out because even the unsuccessful ones are quite helpful to me so I can see what I need to do differently if I were to do it again. I would also like to continue experimenting with these techniques in future work to further improve my skills.

Choosing Photographs for my Documentary

For my photographic documentary I still need to narrow down which photographs I want to use, I have done two shoots so I have a variety of pictures to choose from but it is just deciding which ones will be the most effective. So far these are the photographs I know that I definitely want to use, I think they represent my theme of childhood memories quite well and show close up detail of various object which is what I really wanted to achieve.
